On February 4,
2020, the Ichilov hospital in Israel, in collaboration with the Ministry of
Foreign Affairs of the State of Israel and the Embassy of the state of Israel
in Nigeria, donated medical equipment, including an ultra-sound machine to the
Jos University Teaching Hospital, Plateau State. The presentation was made by
the Charge d’Affaires of the Embassy of the State of Israel to Nigeria, Mr.
Yotam Kreiman. The donation of
medical equipment is timely as the world continues to fight together against
the Covid19 pandemic that has raged on for over a year. Our sympathies go out
to those who have lost their loved ones and those who are recovering.
This year the State of Israel marked the 60th anniversary
of diplomatic relations and friendship with the Federal Republic of Nigeria. It is of great importance that the State of Israel and the Federal
Republic of Nigeria continue to foster their friendship through their tradition
of cooperation in various areas including medicine, education, innovation,
technology, and agriculture, among others.
We thank Professor Shlomi Constantini and the Ichilov hospital
staff for keeping the Nigerian public in their hearts, and expressing it
through this donation.
We believe that health and medical interventions are
essential to building blocks for nations. Therefore, it is our hope that these medical equipment will be useful to the courageous
medical personnel who have been working tirelessly to save lives.
