Government Secondary School, Apo Resettlement in Abuja was chosen to receive the computer classroom
donation under this project as a way of supporting the Government of the
Federal Republic of Nigeria in the Education Sector. This donation is in memory
of Theodor Benjamin Ze’ev Herzl, the visionary who fought for the emergence of
a Jewish Homeland, now known today as the State of Israel.
It is my great honor to represent the State of
Israel in the Federal Republic of Nigeria, humbly and respectfully, for the
benefit and prosperity of both nations. The State of Israel recently marked the
61st anniversary of diplomatic relations and friendship with the Federal
Republic of Nigeria. I am proud to note with satisfaction, the State of Israel
and Nigeria have successful collaborations in the field of Education as well as
Security, Agriculture, Technology and Innovation that exists between our
countries today.
It is important to put an emphasis on Education and
Innovation, to create a place in which children can learn. This fully equipped
computer classroom will facilitate the development and enhancement of the
students’ computer skills, which is necessary to encourage innovation among the
youth. For
Students, access to technology enables accelerated learning and opportunities
to practice what they learn. It makes it possible for them to explore new
subjects and deepen their understanding of difficult concepts, particularly in
Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM).
This
project would not have been possible without the wonderful cooperation and
partnership of: the Africa Division of the Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs,
Skill-G Nigeria Ltd. and the Innov8 hub.
