The outbreak of the Coronavirus (COVID-19) has become one of the world's major concern, affecting the lives of thousands of people across the globe. The need for a collective effort in combating the upsurge of the CoVid-19 pandemic has led the State of Israel to demonstrate its support to the Federal Republic of Nigeria in its fight against COVID19.
On May 7, 2020, the Embassy of the State of Israel together with Skill-G, donated 2000 protective facemasks to the Federal Ministry of Health in Abuja. The presentation was made by H.E Ambassador Shimon Ben-Shoshan, at the office of the Minister of Health, Mr. Osagie Emmanuel Ehanire.
The protective facemasks, which were designed in Israel and manufactured in Nigeria, are intended to support medical personnel who continue to work tirelessly since the CoVid-19 pandemic came to our lives. The Embassy has been working with the Ministry of Health of Nigeria on this project from the very beginning, and would like to thank the Minister, the Permanent Secretary and the Ministry’s staff for the cooperation. This contribution furthermore expresses the concern for the wellbeing of the Nigerian medical staff, and the frontline of the fight against the virus, as well as expressing gratitude for their sacrifices in this trying time.
