General Information
For your attention, the period during which it is possible to leave and enter the borders of Israel with a foreign passport has been extended until 12.31.24
Every Israeli citizen staying abroad, a minor or an adult, must carry with him at all times a valid Israeli travel document. The travel documents issued by the State of Israel to its citizens (passports and transit documents) are the property of the state and must be guarded at all costs. It is the duty of every Israeli citizen - according to law , always enter and leave Israel with an Israeli travel document.
This service (sending by mail) allows Israeli citizens and residents staying abroad to submit an application for receiving or extending a non-biometric Israeli travel document.
This service will not apply in the following cases:
* Minors under the age of 18
* Issuance of first passport
* An adult who requests to renew a passport after a passport that was issued to him when he was a minor.
* Passport application after loss, mutilation or theft.
* Not visiting Israel for over 10 years.
These requests will be processed in person only!!!
A passport issued abroad will be used for up to five years at the most
It is not possible to extend a passport beyond five years from the date of its issuance!
After five years - a new passport must be requested only!

* Biometric passports can only be issued in Israel. A biometric passport is valid for up to 10 years.
* It is not possible to extend biometric passports at all, regardless of their date of issue or their expiration date, a "normal" passport will be issued instead of the biometric passport until a new biometric passport is issued in Israel.
Passport renewal for Adults (over 18 years old)
It is possible and even recommended to renew a passport by sending it by mail.
Below are the forms for renewing a passport, please attach them to the envelope together with the passport and photos.

renewal for minor (under 18 years old)
Required documents:
1. Fill out a Request form for the issuing of a travel document *Both parents must sign it, even if one is American / Non-Israeli*

Passport/ Travel document extension for Adult (over 18 years old)
Only if 5 years didn’t pass from the
date the document was issued an extension can be made, otherwise it requires
issuing a new document.

appointment is required for citizens seeking a new passport, schedule an appointment
Bring the following required

card such as a copy of your old passport, Israeli ID, Israeli driving license

4. Police report- in case of stolen passport

Issuing a passport for the first time
Appointment required- schedule an appointment.
*if a minor (under 18 years old) is seeking a passport:
A) If both parents are Israeli- one Israeli parent must accompany the minor.
B) If one parent is Israeli- both parents must accompany the minor.
Exception:
If a parent is
unable to come to the consulate he/she can sign the required forms in
front of a notary public using this form and have it sealed by an Apostille by
the Secretary of State.
Please bring these required
documents:
1. The
original birth certificate + an Apostille
seal from the Secretary of State.
2. Certified
confirmation of the birth from the hospital (In addition to the birth certificate or ultrasound photo from the third trimester of the pregnancy)
3. Complete the application for a passport
4. Copy of
both parent's passports (Israeli passport for the Israeli parent)

Remarks:
A) If both parents are married to each other- Before you
arrive please make sure that your marital status is updated to “married” in the
Ministry of Interior. If your marital status is not updated please see the updated
family and personal status section.
B) In case an adult (18 years or older) is seeking a
passport for the first time, please contact the consular department via email.
