    Dr. Kharasch is a Pediatric Emergency Medicine Physician at Massachusetts General Hospital and Assistant Professor of Pediatrics at Harvard Medical School. He was previously at Boston Medical Center for 23 years and Director of the Pediatric Emergency Department. He spent 1 full year working full time (2010-2011) at Hadassah Mt. Scopus in the Pediatric Emergency Department and returned about 3 times per year to continue his work.

    Dr. Kharasch has given variations on a talk entitled: A Slice of Peace: The Intersection Between Conflict and Medicine. In this talk he discusses the history of Hadassah Hospital, the conflicts as they impact the practice of medicine, the response of the Department of Pediatrics at Hadassah Mt. Scopus, a bit about the work he does in the emergency room, a wedding he attended in Ramallah, and more depending on the audience. The "spirit" of this talk is contained in the link below. Recently, Dr. Kharasch has lectured at at MGH for Grand Rounds, New England Hadassah Organization, the University of Chicago and the Maimonides Club in Longmeadow MA. In summary, it is a talk about how Medicine is practiced in an area of conflict, specifically at Hadassah where 50% of their patients are Arabs, and how everyone works together for the care of children.
