    ​​Mr. Oren Geron assumed the position of Counselor for Regional Affairs at the Embassy of Israel in Washington, D.C. in July 2016, where he focuses on strengthening relations between Israel and Maryland and Virginia. He also serves as Counselor for Academic Affairs and as the Academic Coordinator for North America.

    Prior to his posting in Washington, Mr. Geron served as the Deputy Chief of Mission at the Israeli Embassy in Santiago, Chile. 

     Mr. Geron obtained a Master's degree (Cum Laude) in Political Science, Diplomacy and Security Studies, from Tel-Aviv University, and a B.Sc. in Computer Engineering from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem.

    Before joining the Foreign Service in 2011, Mr. Geron worked as an Algorithms Engineer at I.A.I (Israel Aerospace Industries) and as an R&D Team leader.

    Oren Geron currently lives in Washington, D.C. with his wife. He is fluent in Hebrew, English and Spanish.​
