The embassy hosted today the Israeli cyclist Tom Peled and his team for a special event highlighting their efforts to raise funds for cancer research in Israel.

Peled started "Bike for the Fight" (BFF), a fundraising effort dedicated to raising awareness and funding for the Israel Cancer Research Fund through a series of cycling events in Israel and in the United States. Peled initiated the project as a way to cope with his father's passing away after an 8 years long battle with a rare cancer of the stomach membrane.

Washington DC was Peled's final stop in a 2,500 mile trip which began a month and a half ago in Toronto, Canada. At the embassy, the BFF team was greeted by embassy staff including remarks by Oren Marmorstein, the Counselor for Academic Affairs.
