    Amb. Yuval Rotem, Director-General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, spoke today with the Egyptian ambassador to Israel and clarified that the Israeli ambassador to UNESCO did not make the remarks associated to him, and in any event do not reflect the position of the State of Israel.

    Egypt is a staunch ally of Israel, and the peace between the two countries is both a strategic peace and a solid pillar of Israeli foreign policy. Israel is committed to continue to develop the bilateral relationship.
