    ​The high-level participants in the MASHAV-UN ESARO workshop included, among others, Senator Janet Ong'era, Kenya’s Senate Minority Deputy Whip; Dr. Reginalda Wanyonyi Nakhumicha, Member of the National Assembly of Kenya; Ms. Florence Butegwa, Senior Regional Advisor, Leadership and Governance UN Women-ESARO; and Prof. Sauda Mohammed  Swaleh, Deputy Director - Africa Centre for Transformative and Inclusive Leadership.

    Cooperation between MASHAV and UN WOMEN Eastern & Southern Africa Regional Office pays particular attention to women in agro-technology including capacity building and training in agro-technology and agro-business; and the establishment of a Leadership Center, including design and running of leadership development programs in the East and Horn of Africa regions.​


    The workshop, conducted at the Golda Meir Mount Carmel International Training Center​ (MCTC), aimed at contributing to women’s empowerment by exploring aspects of entrepreneurship as a contributor to income generation and employment. The participants were exposed to the various aspects of planning, development and management of small businesses to acquire necessary skills to facilitate the initiation, organization and management of small businesses in their home countries effectively and profitably.
     
    Ambassador Mattanya Cohen, Director of MASHAV’s Training Division, represented MASHAV at the workshop’s closing ceremony, which counted also with the presence of distinguished members of the foreign diplomatic corps.​​​
