36 Members of the U.S. House of Representatives arrived in Israel on Monday as part of a U.S. Congressional Delegation to the region from August 5 to August 11. The delegation, led by Democratic Whip Steny Hoyer, met with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Tuesday evening.

Prime Minister Netanyahu urged Congress to continue the pressure on Iran: "Iran's president said that pressure won't work. Not true! The only thing that has worked in the last two decades is pressure. And the only thing that will work now is increased pressure. I have said that before and I'll say it again, because that's important to understand.  You relent on the pressure, they will go all the way. You should sustain the pressure."

Congressman Joseph Kennedy of Massachusetts, one of the 36 Members of the delegation, issued a press release before the trip reaffirming his commitment to the U.S.-Israel relationship: “It will underscore the deep friendship between Israel and the United States, as well as the strong alliances we share on everything from global security to economic development and immigration.”
