Maya Cohen is the National Director of Academic Affairs at the Embassy of Israel in the United States. Ms. Cohen engages in outreach to interest groups and communities within the academic world, in order to increase visibility and improve Israel's image, she plans and oversees local and national projects with American universities and facilitates connections between Israeli and American academic institutions.
Before coming to America, Ms. Cohen worked at the law firm of Hamburger Evron and Co.
She assisted attorneys with preparation for arbitration meetings, court appearances and witness questioning, conducted legal research and wrote legal documents, and summarized findings and presented recommendations and oral briefs to attorneys.
Prior to that, Ms. Cohen worked at the Israel Securities Authority (ISA) at the Investments Department. Maya conducted ongoing supervision of the compliance of ETN managers (Exchange Traded Notes, similar to ETF) with the provisions of the Securities Law.
Ms. Cohen holds a Master in business administration and a law degree, both from Hebrew University.
