Applications must be made in person. Therefore, unsolicited applications sent via post will not be accepted. Exceptions for applying via post will only be made for Austrian citizens living outside of Vienna.
For your information, the consulate does not accept cash payment. Fees are to be paid with credit/debit cards or bank transfer.
Student Visa applications must include:
- Passport valid for at least one year
- Two 5x5 cm photos. Any other size will not be accepted.
- Foreign nationals in Austria: Austrian residence permit/visa valid for at least 6 months
- Acceptance letter from the university
- Proof of financial means
- Health declaration written by a recognized physician
- Bank account statements (3 months)
- Salary slips (3 months)
Application fee: € 51,--
Visitor Visa applications must include:
- Passport valid for at least one year
- Austrian residence permit/visa valid for at least one year
- Meldezettel
- Two 5x5 cm photos. Any other size will not be accepted.
- Proof of employment
- Salary slips (3 months)
- Bank account statements (6 months)
- Proof of roundtrip booking
- Hotel confirmation
