Prosor's Letter to UN on Car Ramming Attack

Amb. Prosor's Letter to UN on Car Ramming Attack

  •   Once again, even after a Palestinian terrorist intentionally plowed his car into three IDF soldiers today, the UN hasn’t condemned the attack, nor the other recent attacks against Israelis.
  •

    Excellency,

I am writing to you, for the third time in three days, to call your attention to a terror attack against Israelis, and to urge you to speak out.

Earlier today, three Israeli soldiers on routine patrol were wounded when a Palestinian man intentionally plowed his car into them. The terrorist saw them standing on the side of the road, made a U-turn, and used his vehicle to crush them. As I write this letter, two of the injured are in critical condition.

Hamas, an internationally recognized terrorist organization, rushed to praise this attack, and encouraged Palestinians to continue to launch such attacks against Israelis.

This attack is part of an escalation of terror against Israel. It must be stopped. The Palestinian leadership must cease their incitement, break their silence, and denounce these heinous attacks.

While Hamas rushed to praise today’s attack, the international community has yet to even address the attacks from earlier this week. I have not heard any condemnation of this terror attack, or the previous attacks, from the Security Council. This silence stands in stark contrast to the immediate and extensive condemnation issued in response to the horrific terror attack on a Palestinian family last week.

As I have written to you previously, terror is terror, no matter where it takes place, or who is harmed. The people of Israel deserve the same level of concern and empathy as any other people in the world.

I call on you, once again, to make a public statement condemning these attacks, and sending a clear message to the Palestinian Authority and to the rest of the world that such attacks are unacceptable.
