Tourists and visitors to the Old City of Jerusalem can now download a free
app that offers 16 self-guided audio walking tours in English, Russian or
Hebrew, complete with maps, photos and written explanations, to enrich their
visiting experience as they stroll through the Old City's ancient historical,
religious and cultural sites and its enchanting alleyways. QR codes for the three languages are available on the Jerusalem Development Authority website.
The tours and maps, which can be downloaded free of charge from the website, offer a
wide variety of subjects. The apps, which include explanations in English,
Russian and Hebrew, as well as video, text files and even games, can be operated
throughout the walking tour from a smart phone (iPhone or Android) or other
similar audio device. Another five accessible tours are available for download,
aimed specifically at the tourist with disabilities.
