    ​The Iranian born Israeli singing superstar Rita performed in the UN General Assembly Hall on Tuesday night (March 5, 2013). In a rare event taking place on the UN stage, Rita sang in Persian, Hebrew and English to a packed hall.

    Rita was joined by Israeli Ambassador Ron Prosor and UN Secretary-General Ban Ki​ moon, who called for closer cultural ties between the people of Israel and Iran.

    "Our goal is to weave a tapestry of music as rich and diverse as the United Nations itself. It is our sincere hope that this musical evening will echo from New York to the hearts and minds of people throughout Israel and Iran," said Amb. Prosor.​
