Israel Enhances Ties With Lehigh Valley

    This week, Consul General Yaron Sideman visited the Allentown/Easton area for the second time, where he met with mayors of both Easton, Mr. Sal Panto, and Allentown, Mr. Ed Pawlowski, both of whom attend the International Mayor's Conference in Jerusalem last spring. Accompanied by Jewish Federation of Lehigh Valley's CEO Mark Goldstein and JFLV President Barry Halper, the mayors  discussed their recent trip to Israel and ways to enhance and expand economic, academic and cultural ties between their respective cities and Israel. After the mayoral meetings, Mr. Sideman and delegation met with Dr. Peter Pettit, Associate Professor of Religious Studies, Director of the Institute for Jewish-Christian Understanding at Muhlenberg College. Dr. Pettit hosted the delegation at lunch and discussed his recent projects of mutual interest. Mr. Sideman expressed appreciation to all friends of Israel who graciously hosted he and Michelle Effron Miller, Director of Press & Government, throughout the day.
