Deputy Consul Elad Strohmayer made his Philadelphia cultural debut at the Sunday September 9th opening of Philadelphia Sculptors' CATAGENESIS exhibition.  Elad greeted the opening guests and speak of the important role Art plays in bridging people and communities.

Challenged by Philadelphia curators Cheryl Harper and Leslie Kaufman, Israeli artist Nivi Alroy has created a site-specific installation that responds to and with the Globe Dye Factory building home for the exhibition CATAGENESIS. This international exhibition takes its name from the scientific process whereby system breakdown becomes a new beginning rather than an ending. Nivi's work portrays this process in its circular design, as well she created pieces of maps, nations which one could harken back to the "Globe" in the factory's name. Her work is a fascinating combination of industrial and feminine – with her exquisite and often delicate use of colour and the  industrial materials. This is a work to experience, and the viewer is invited to move around the sculpture to get a different view from each angle and a different sense of the flow of the energy of her work. Nivi's work and this exhibition are a must see – and is on view at the Globe Dye Factory (4500 Worth Street, Philadelphia, PA) every weekend between now and October 21st.
