Deputy Foreign Minister Tzipi Hotovely met today (Monday, January 18 2016) with the Foreign Minister of Rwanda, Ms. Louise Mushikiwabo.

In their meeting, the two discussed Israel's continuing contribution to the development of Rwanda's agriculture and national water system. Deputy Minister Hotovely expressed deep appreciation for Rwanda's support for Israel in the international arena, and for Rwanda's impressive development in all areas.

    Deputy Minister Hotovely remarked:

"I would like to welcome you to Israel. It is indicative of Rwanda's very positive stance towards Israel that your previous visit was held during Operation Protective Edge. I am always pleased to see a woman in a key position, and especially so in this case, given Rwanda's leading role in terms of the advancement of the status of women in its parliament. Unfortunately, during your visit, we have experienced a terrible terror attack against a young Israeli woman murdered in front of her children by a Palestinian terrorist. The Palestinian incitement, which gives rise to such sickening acts of terror, deepens the hostility between the sides and distances the prospect of dialogue."
