This week the state of Israel griefs together with the people of France, in response to the shocking, vicious terror attacks that took place on the streets of Paris. Prime Minister Netanyahu expressed his condolences to the families of the victims, flags in all official Israeli diplomatic missions were lowered to half-mast and the people of Israel stood shoulder to shoulder in solidarity with the people of France.
These attacks were not only aimed at the French people but at each and every one of us; at our values, our way of life. These attacks sought to undermine everything we stand for as free and democratic societies.
The terrorism that we are witnessing, whether it strikes the streets of Paris, Turkey, Egypt or Israel, stems from one single, clear and distinct origin - radical Islam.
The best way to fight the Islamic terrorism that seeks to violently entrench us in the darkest periods of human history, is to uphold and protect the values of freedom, liberty and life.
