Terror in Tel Aviv

  •

Dr. Michael Feige, 58 years old, married with three daughters, was a respected well known anthropologist and sociologist at the Ben- Guiron University. Idan Ben Ari , 42 years old, used to be a fighter in one of the elite units of the IDF and was a loving husband and father of two children. Mila Mishayev, 33 years old, was a loving daughter and sister to two brothers and a sister, and was soon to marry. Ilana Naveh, 39 years old, was a devoted mother of four daughters and had a loving wife.
All four were murdered in the brutal terrorist shooting attack that took place on Wednesday at the very popular Sharona market at the heart of Tel Aviv.
There have been 218 terror attacks--shootings, stabbings, car rammings and suicide bombings--against Israeli citizens since September, an average of nearly one every day. These attacks, praised by Hamas, are a painful reminder of where the chance of peace stands.

Sharp and unequivocal condemnations of this latest abhorrent terrorist attack were heard from leading world capitals. Unfortunately, no such condemnation was heard from the Palestinian Authority. Rather they are greeted with fireworks, shouts of joy and candy treats in Gaza and in other parts of the Palestinian society in Judea and Samaria.
These murders, regretfully, once again demonstrates that the principle obstacle to progress in Israeli-Palestinian peacemaking is the Palestinian refusal to jettison all aspects of violence as an instrument of policy.
Four innocent Israelis were murdered. We mourn their deaths.
