Israeli Water Delegation to London

  •
Last night in London, some of Israel’s leading and most exciting water technology companies joined over 100 of the UK’s leading water companies and investment firms at a water technology innovation briefing.
Organised by the Trade and Economic Office at the Embassy of Israel in London, in partnership with Bloomberg New Energy Finance and the British Embassy in Israel, this event served as Bloomberg’s inaugural water briefing and offered the industry leaders from both countries a platform for closed-door networking.

The event was opened by the British Ambassador to Israel, HE Matthew Gould who described the enormous potential for a partnership between British business and the Israeli water technology sector.
Some fourteen companies from Israel’s water industry were present to showcase their latest innovations and offer their unique insights on the recent research on worldwide water trends and challenges. Together with their UK counterparts, the Israeli companies also participated in lively and robust discussions and explored the strong ties between shale gas, power and water in the UK and Europe.
Presenting on Global Water Trends, Dimitra Christakou, Head of Water Analysis at Bloomberg New Energy Finance, described Israel as the “Silicon Valley of Water Cleantech” and the “undeniable leaders in smart water technology offering solutions across back and middle office.”

This event comes as part of an important week-long delegation visit of Israeli water companies to the UK. Organised by the UK Israel Tech Hub at the British Embassy, with support from the Trade and Economic Office at the Embassy of Israel, this delegation is aimed at further highlighting the synergies between the two industries and providing an opportunity for increased collaboration and partnership.
Momentum is building towards the Watec Conference that is due to take place in Israel in October of this year, and both the delegation visit and the Bloomberg event come in the run up to preparations for a large UK delegation to Watec.
Noah Shani, Minister for Trade and Economic Affairs at the Embassy of Israel, commented that “once again we can see the very real and keen interest in what the Israeli water industry has to offer. Due to the expertise that it has built up over decades and the ingenuity that has been applied to the challenge of water scarcity, Israel has become a world leader in creating innovative water solutions that can benefit countries right across the globe.”
