In 2013, there will be a continued focus on introducing exciting Israeli breakthrough water technologies to the UK market with continued events and delegations in the UK, as well as plans to assemble a large UK delegation to the WATEC exhibition and conference in Tel Aviv this October. Consumer Goods
The overall aim for 2013 is to dramatically increase awareness of Israeli consumer goods to the UK market and attract greater interest from major buyers. This is the first time the UK Trade & Economic Office has attempted to promote the cosmetics industry and this will be happening through Cosmoprof in March. At PLAMA in May, Israeli manufacturers from across industry will be looking to see themselves to Retailers looking to Private Label. Following on the heels of SIAL, Europe’s Premier food event Anuga is taking place in October. And finally, we hope to support Israel’s burgeoning costume and fashion Jewellery sector by bringing a selection of Israeli Jewellery companies to London in the spring.

    Life Sciences Sector
As every year we will work on the BioMed and Medica events, with the aim of building on last year’s successes. There are also several other activities planned for 2013, including: an investor’s event in London dedicated to Israeli start-ups that are looking for funding, arranging delegations of global British companies to Israel and establishing a deeper relations with the British life science trade organisations.

    Homeland Security
With the UK boasting a strong and mature security market, the synergies are clear and the opportunities for increased collaboration are strong and plentiful. Throughout 2013, the Trade and Economic Office will be focusing activities in Homeland Security to the areas of, Aviation and airport security, Border security, Mass Transportation security and the Protection of National Infrastructure. Significant emphasis will also be placed on Cyber security owing to the great deal of interest, which continues to grow in light of recent events and reports, into Israel’s significant cyber capability and it’s dynamically-evolving level of innovation.

    High Tech
The ICT industry is shifting to a new technology platform for growth and innovation built on mobile devices and apps, cloud services, mobile broadband networks, Big Data analytics, and social technologies.
Israeli companies are highly active in these areas, most of which are closely in line with traditional fields of expertise for the local industry. In addition, the expansion into new technology domains continues with an increasing number of companies are driving innovation in areas such as connected devices, automotive, energy, consumer technologies and various others. Throughout 2013, the Trade and Economic Office will seek to present these new platforms and technologies to the UK market and create the opportunities for renewed partnership and collaboration in this field.
