On Tuesday 28 August the Embassy of Israel held a reception to welcome the Israeli Paralympic delegation. Speakers included Foreign Office Minister Alistair Burt, Ambassador Daniel Taub, Chairman of Paralympic Committee Mr Danny Ben Abu, Honorary President of Paralympic Committee Mr Shlomo Shmelzer, and Deputy Ambassador Mr. Alon Roth-Snir.
The Ambassador expressed admiration for the athletes and remarked upon the fact that the Paralympics was started by German-Jewish doctor Ludwig Guttman. He added that although Israel is the only country to hold more Nobel Prizes than gold medals, he nonetheless wished all the athletes the best of luck.
The Embassy of Israel congratulates Inbal Pezaro and Itzhak Mamistvalov for winning bronze medals!
