The British Friends of Israel’s War Disabled (BFIWD)is a charitable organisation that brings Israeli victims of war and terror to the UK to help with their rehabilitation.
Every 7 years, the charity Beit Halochem organises a trip to a community outside of Israel. This year, the Israeli disabled soldiers and victims of terror will be housed by families in Manchester who will look after them during a two-week visit. Their trip includes a visit to Manchester United football stadium, a visit to the Lord Mayor of Manchester, the Beatles Museum in Liverpool and various parties and ceremonies. The aim is to take these Israelis and their families out of their daily difficulties and to give them an unforgettable holiday.
It was a real privilege and honour for us at the Israeli embassy to welcome the delegation and their families and to thank the volunteers from the Manchester delegation of BFIWD for their tireless efforts.
