On Wednesday, the Ambassador HE Daniel Taub hosted a reception at his residence in honour of the city of Arad. Over 40 distinguished guests were invited to hear about Israel’s Negev desert region and the challenges that Israel faces in developing the area.
Among the guests were Eitan Campbell, Director of Masada National Park, Rabbi Avraham Kaminer, Chairman of the Arad Foundation and former Deputy Mayor of Arad in the 1990s, Sir Ian Gainsford, Chairman of the British Friends of Arad and Mick Davis, Chairman of UJIA, member of the JLC and close friend to the city of Arad.
The Arad Foundation was established in 1992, an initiative of then Deputy-Mayor of Arad, Avraham Kaminer. The Foundation works in the fields of Education, Health and Social Welfare. In co-operation with the local municipality, it has spearheaded projects designed to meet the needs of all the people of Arad, regardless of cultural or religious background.
A short video presentation (
available here) gave the guests a feel for the city and the exciting projects that the Arad Foundation has already completed.
