    Ambassador Gold has served among others as adviser to Prime Ministers Netanyahu and Sharon, and as Israeli ambassador to the United Nations. Since 2000 Gold has served as president of the Jerusalem Center for Public Affairs.

    Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Benjamin Netanyahu intends to submit for Cabinet approval the appointment of Dr. Dore Gold as Director General of the Foreign Ministry.
     
    Prime Minister Netanyahu met this morning (Monday, 25 May 2015) with Foreign Ministry Director General Nissim Ben-Shetrit, thanked him for his service and suggested that he continue in the diplomatic arena.
