PM Bennett speaks with South Korean President

    Prime Minister Naftali Bennett, today (Friday, 16 July 2021), spoke with South Korean President Moon Jae-in, who congratulated him on assuming office and conveyed his best wishes for continued social stability and prosperity during his tenure.
     
    President Moon asked Prime Minister Bennett to convey his congratulations to President Isaac Herzog, who recently assumed office, and expressed his desire to strengthen the friendship between the two countries via strong contacts with Israeli leaders.
     
    The two discussed advancing their countries' mutual interests including the joint efforts to fight the coronavirus and economic cooperation.
     
    Prime Minister Bennett and President Moon expressed mutual appreciation for the deal to exchange vaccines that was carried out at the start of the month and which constitutes an optimal example of the efficient use of vaccines, the number of which is limited. The leaders agreed to continue cooperation vis-à-vis coronavirus vaccines.
     
     
    The Prime Minister and the President also discussed the bilateral free trade agreement, which forms the basis for strengthening mutual economic ties and advancing mutual investments, and agreed to work in the same spirit toward implementation of the agreement.
     
    The two sides also agreed on the continued expansion of cooperation in industrial technology, information technology, communications and the development of start-ups.
     
     
    Prime Minister Bennett and President Moon agreed to remain in close contact in order to strengthen the friendly cooperation between Israel and South Korea.
