Israeli Diplomats visit Liverpool

  •

This week, the Deputy Ambassador Eitan Na’eh, together with the Minister for Economic and Trade Affairs, Noah Shani and Counsellor for Civil Society Affairs, Ismail Khaldi, visited Liverpool to look for possible collaborative business opportunities and engage with the City and its communities.

A highlight of this was an interesting and productive meeting with Local Councillors and the Lord Mayor.

On Monday Evening, the Embassy delegation was hosted by the Kingsway Christian Centre, where an audience of over 150 heard about Ismail Khaldi’s experience as Israel’s first Bedouin diplomat and about Israel’s advances in technology and commercial progress.

In addition, the diplomats visited Liverpool Hope University where they learned about its unique background, met with the Vice Chancellor Professor Gerald Pillay and gave a lecture to students organised by the Desmond Tutu Centre for Peace Studies.

Mr. Na’eh also spoke to Sixth Form students at King David High School about a wide range of topics from the effect of conflicts in the region to Higher Education opportunities in Israel.

During the visit business opportunities were explored in order for Liverpool to gain from the national opportunities being created by the successful trade partnerships between Israel and the UK.
