Last week, JW3, the new Jewish Community Centre, opened its doors to the public with a fantastic launch party featuring Israeli hip-hop band Hadag Nahash. The aim of JW3 is to transform the Jewish landscape in London by helping to create a vibrant, diverse and proud community, inspired by and engaged in Jewish arts, culture and community.
During his visit to JW3 the Ambassador said:
“This is a wonderful opportunity for the Israeli community in London to come together with the Jewish community, share in each other’s culture and create something new together”.
“Through JW3, we’re telling people who don’t go to shul or have non-Jewish partners to not disappear from the radar, not to be lost, but to put their toes in the water,” said Raymond Simonson, JW3′s Chief executive.
Earlier, Chief Rabbi Ephraim Mirvis affixed the mezuzah, designed by Sir Anish Kapoor in a ceremony attended by Mitch Winehouse, Nick Viner, Dame Vivien Duffield, Baroness Julia Neuberger and leaders of the Board of Deputies and the Jewish Leadership Council.
