London, 13th September, 2013: Al Mackin and Tom New’s Formisimo,
http://www.formisimo.com/, a unique tool to measure how visitors interact with the forms on your website, has won the final of the second annual Bizcamp Tel Aviv start-up competition, held last night at international advertising agency
Havas Worldwide London.
Formisimo beat fierce competition from three other UK finalists, who were each given 10 minutes to pitch their business to a formidable panel of judges, including: HE Daniel Taub, Ambassador of Israel; Eze Vidra Head of Campus, Google; Claire Twohill, Head of Social Media, Havas Worldwide; and Martin Bryant, News Editor,
The Next Web.
Formisimo will now join a delegation of thirteen promising tech start-up owners from around the world, who will travel to Tel Aviv in October to experience first-hand the unique environment and energy which has made Israel one of the world’s most dynamic places for start-ups.
Al Mackin, Formisimo’s founder and CEO, said: “We are thrilled to have won a place at Bizcamp. We are really looking forward to meeting other entrepreneurs like ourselves from all over the world, visit the inspiring places and meet all the inspirational people in Israel. I’m hoping it will open some doors and help us develop our business at this very exciting time.”
Organised by The City of Tel Aviv, Israel’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and The Next Web, Bizcamp’s five day itinerary includes a mixture of seminars, workshops and networking events with leading Israeli entrepreneurs and investors.
As well as getting advice on how to take their business to the next level, members of the group will have the chance to hone their pitching skills and even win investment as they present their business ideas to a panel of VCs.
Last night’s final marks the culmination of six weeks of competition during which dozens of promising young British entrepreneurs the length and breadth of the country submitted their business ideas via an online entry form. Entries were whittled down to four finalists, each of whom was given a ‘Dragons Den’ style grilling by the panel expert judges.
HE Daniel Taub, Ambassador of Israel to the UK and competition judge, said: “Tonight’s competition was extremely tough to judge as all the candidates were so strong, having already beaten nearly 40 other entries just to make it to the final. We saw potential in every business that presented, and whilst we could only select one winner, we sincerely hope the runners up will all go on to make a resounding success of their businesses.
“We felt Formisimo were the worthy winners of Bizcamp 2013 and were amazed the idea did not already exist. We look forward to welcoming Formisimo to Tel Aviv and hope the combination of a great idea, great Bizcamp training, and the energy of Tel Aviv will help Formisimo go on to achieve great things.”
Al Mackin became inspired to create Formisimo about two years ago, when he was doing work for a national e-commerce client on optimising their site for conversions. He realised that their registration had not changed in years and while millions of pounds was being spent on marketing and SEO, no-one had thought to change the actual form, which users were not completing in their thousands
Formisimo is the only tool to measure how visitors interact with online forms. It gives users all the information they need to improve their forms and increase conversion rates from their site.
