    The Embassy of the State of Israel in Ethiopia would like to hire a competent candidate for the opening position of Economy, Trade, and Investment Promotion officer.

    BASIC FUNCTION OF THE POSITIONS

     

    1.      The Office of Economy, Trade, and Investment Promotion assists with enquiries from organizations and businesses that are looking to expand their activities and increase trade relations between Israel and Ethiopia. It organizes a number of events, across a range of different sectors with the aim of promoting and facilitating business opportunities between the two countries, as well as assembling trade delegations both to and from Israel. The office also, facilitates and coordinates meetings between Ethiopian and Israeli companies at national and international exhibitions across a range of sectors.
     
     
    QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
     
    Education: A bachelor’s degree in economics, or political science, or  business administration, or international relations, and or a closely related field.
    • Language: Professional Proficiency in both English and Amharic
    ·         Skills and Abilities: Applicant must possess a sound understanding of Ethiopia's business, economic, and political environment, and be familiar with local business practices, marketing channels, trade associations, local trade laws, and government policies relating to trade and foreign investment.
     
    Professional Experience: at least 3 years of Professional Experience in the business sector, notably with economic organizations.
     

    SELECTION PROCESS

     
    In addition to above listed requirements applicants will be considered for the position based on their:
    ·         Deep knowledge of Ethiopian culture and Trade, Economic and investment environment of Ethiopia
    ·         Communication skills
    ·         Desire to learn about Israeli trade, economic and investment environment practices
    ·         Ability to learn new things fast
    ·         Team work ability
     
     
    HOW TO APPLY

    1. A cover letter, in English, of no more than 500 words, which addresses the following selection criteria, including relevant examples:
    a.     Superior oral and written communication skills 
    b.     Development and maintenance of effective interpersonal relationships with team members and external contacts.
    c.     Strong organizational and administrative abilities.
    d.     Strong relevant networking abilities.
    2. A current resume of no more than one page, in English, including the names and contact details of two referees.
