1. B/2 Visitor's visa
A B/2 visa is granted to someone who wishes to stay in Israel for only a short time (for a visit, tourism, a business meeting). A person who enters Israel on a B/2 visa is not allowed to work in the State of Israel.
A B/2 visa is valid for up to three months from the date of issue. The duration of the stay in Israel will be determined by the Border Police. A visitor who wishes to extend his visit may submit an application at one of the regional population administration offices of the Ministry of the Interior.
The process to be handled at the mission:
- A travel document that is valid for at least six months beyond the period of the stay in Israel.
- A completed and signed application for a visa to enter Israel.
- Proof of the applicant's sufficient financial means for the visit to Israel (such as bank statements from the last six months, signed and stamped by the bank manager).
- Payed round trip airline tickets to and from Israel, including receipt/proof of payment.
- If the applicant owns a business or any other asset such as a car and/or a House, present business registration certificates, ownership documents, business bank account (signed by the bank manager) and other related documents.
- Business license of your work place, Authenticated by the Ethiopian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
- Proof of where the applicant will reside during their stay in Israel, such as a payed hotel reservation including receipt/proof of payment.
- Travel program (details of places of visit in Israel and duration of stay).
- A formal letter from your work place confirming vacation and stating applicant's profession and monthly salary, including mobile number and email of inviter.
- If the applicant is married and have children, present the original of the marriage and birth certificate , Authenticated by the Ethiopian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
- Proof of Medical insurance for applicant's stay in Israel.
- Police clearance certificate Authenticated by the Ethiopian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
- Two passport pictures (5x5 cm), on WHITE BACKGROUND ONLY.
- Payment of the fee, and bring the receipt with you along with all docs listed above.
- Invitation letter if applicable, including mobile number and email address of Israeli inviter.
1.1 Requirements for short business trip to Israel:
Applicant's who wishes to stay in Israel for only a short time, for a business meeting can apply for B/2 visa. A person who enters Israel on a B/2 visa is not allowed to work in the State of Israel. The application has to include all documents listed in section 1 above, and also the following documents:
- Company's bank account signed and stamped by the bank manager.
- Correspondence with business contacts in Israel, including mobile number and email address of Israeli inviter.
- Documents proving applicant's regular business activities.
- Letter from applicant's company stating the purpose of your visit including mobile number and email address of the company's contact person.
1.2 Requirements for short visit for medical treatment:
Applicant's who wishes to stay in Israel for only a short time, for a medical treatment can apply for B/2 visa. The application has to include all documents listed in section 1 above, and also the following documents:
- Formal letter from a hospital in Israel including full medical diagnosis, and description of medical treatment, signed and stamped by the hospital management, including mobile number and email address of the hospital contact person.
- Confirmation of payment for treatment.
- Formal letter from a hospital in Ethiopia including full medical diagnosis signed and stamped by the hospital management including mobile number and email address of the hospitals contact person.
Please note:
- The Consul may request additional documents.
- Since the fee is collected for handling the application, it will not be refunded to the applicant if the visa is not issued for any reason.
1.3 Invitation from Israel:
People who are invited by relatives/organizations/companies must be invited through the Ministry of Interior Affairs in Israel. When the invitation is confirmed by the Ministry of Interior Affairs and arrives at the Embassy, the invitee must come to the Embassy with all documents listed in section 1 above, and also the following documents:
- Two 5 by 5 cm passport photo, on WHITE BACKGROUND ONLY.
- Payed round trip airline tickets to and from Israel, including receipt/proof of payment, for the permitted duration of stay.
- Proof of Medical insurance for applicant's stay in Israel.
- Letter of Invitation including mobile number and email address of the Israeli inviter.
- Copy of the Israeli ID of the inviter.
ATTENTION: Further documents may be requested in order to complete your visa application. Please make sure you have all relevant documents before applying for a visa.
2. A/2 Student visa
This visa is granted to those who want to study in Israel in elementary and high schools, academic institutions, yeshivot and youth institutions of the Jewish Agency. The visa is valid for up to one year and for multiple entrances and exits. Recipients of this visa are not permitted to work in Israel.
Please note: A minor will not be given a visa without the written consent of both parents or his legal guardian.
The visa is granted to students who provide the following:
- Completed and signed application for a visa to enter Israel.
- Two passport pictures (5x5 cm), on WHITE BACKGROUND ONLY.
- Certification of acceptance for study at a recognized educational institution in Israel.
- Proof that the student has the financial means to pay for his studies and sustenance throughout his stay in Israel (such as bank statements from the last six months).
- Payed round trip airline tickets to and from Israel, including receipt/proof of payment.
- A travel document that is valid for at least one year, provided that the applicant's country has a diplomatic mission in the State of Israel. If there is no such mission in Israel, the passport must be valid for the entire period of studies and another six months beyond that time.
- Proof of Medical insurance for applicant's stay in Israel.
- Police clearance certificate Authenticated by the Ethiopian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
- If the applicant is married and have children, present the original of the marriage and birth certificate , Authenticated by the Ethiopian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
- Payment of the fee.
Note: The Consul may request additional documents, and may also ask to interview the applicant in person at the Embassy.
Minors applying for a visa will also need the following:
- Original and authenticated by the Ministry Of Foreign Affairs Of The Federal Democratic Republic Of Ethiopia, birth certificate with the names of both parents.
- Two parental consent forms for issuing a visa for a minor, one for each parent or legal guardian.
Please note that the parents or legal guardians must sign the form in front of a consular officer at the Embassy. If one of the parents cannot come to the Embassy in person, they must sign the form in front of a notary public, and the other parent must bring the notarized form to the Embassy for the visa application.
4. A/4 visa for spouses and children
For the spouses and children of recipients of A/2 or A/3 visas
This visa is granted to the spouses and minor children of recipients of A/2 or A/3 visas.
The visa will be issued under the following conditions:
5. B/1 Work visa
This visa is for a person whose stay in Israel is approved for a limited period of time for the purpose of work. This visa is given to experts and artists, among others, and is granted solely with the approval of the Ministry of the Interior.
The validity of the B/1 Work visa will be in accordance with Ministry of Interior guidelines. The worker must enter Israel within the period of time specified in the visa and stay in the country as specified in the visa. A person who receives such a visa may apply to one of the population administration offices of the Ministry of the Interior to extend the visa.
