It was an evening of fun, friendship and love for Israel, when
the Israeli Ambassador to Ghana, H.E Ami Mehl, and his wife Dr. Yael Mehl
hosted the leadership of the Africa-Israel Initiative. The program was a Dinner at the residence of
the ambassador ahead of the Africa-Israel Initiative Summit in Accra.
After welcoming them
to their home, H.E spoke about his experience in Ghana so far and how special
the people make him feel for being Israeli.
“When you drive in town, you see Israeli flags in private
cars, taxis and Trotros (Commercial buses), Ghanaians’ love for Israel is
amazing” H.E said.
The Greater Accra Regional Minister, Hon. Afotey Agbo was
present at the event to show his support for the group and what they are doing.
He spoke of his love for Israel and appealed to H.E Ami Mehl to do his best in
helping to grow the poultry industry in Ghana.
‘My Father spent
some time in Israel, he brought me some things and told me very nice stories
about Israel. When you do that to a boy, the fond memory stays with him
forever; so I have a love for Israel and I know the love Ghanaians show Israel
is not fake.” Hon Afotey Agbo intimated.
Also present at the dinner were Hon. Emmanuel Bedzrah and
Hon. Seth Acheampong, both Members of Parliament, and members of the
Africa-Israel Initiative. They also
shared their experiences of their visits to Israel and expressed their wish for
the growth of the relationship between Israel and Ghana.
Members of the Africa-Israeli Initiative took
time to thank H.E and his wife for hosting them in such a pleasant and lively
atmosphere; and pledged their continuous support for Israel. H. E Ami Mehl also thanked the group for
being wonderful guests, and for their support for Israel.
