Our Trade and Economic Mission in Ghana, in partnership with the Israeli Export Institute on Friday, 7 May organised an exclusive event for top management personnel of investment companies and business advisory firms at its maiden VIP Investors Forum.
The event took place at Dawhenya Greenhouse Village in the Ningo Prampram Municipality of the Greater Accra Region.
Participants from the agricultural sector were introduced to Israeli innovations in agriculture, top-five Israeli agriculture turnkey companies, and a tour of the Agritop Greenhouse Village Farm that uses Israeli technology in their operations.
H. E. Shani Cooper revealed that they see huge potential in Ghana, and the agriculture sector as an avenue they can help and influence.
“Our priority is agriculture. Israel is an important producer internationally in agriculture, and Israeli agro-technology companies can be beneficial to Ghana’s agriculture sector. We are investing in agriculture in Ghana not only commercially but also developmentally via capacity building programmes and the promotion of trade relations in the two countries,” she told the B&FT in an interview.
She noted that the embassy is working with the Ministry of Food and Agriculture (MoFA) in Ghana to train agric officers, and to help them promote technologies that will help farmers for a better yield.
Our Head of Trade and Economic Mission to Ghana, Ayelet Levin-Karp, said they are making efforts to see how they can be of help and support Ghana’s agriculture sector using Israeli technology and know-how.
She mentioned that technologies that are affordable and suitable to the market are key. “You do not need to have the best technology in the market; you need to have the technology that will improve your yields in a way that is worthwhile, worth your investment and helps you grow,” she said.
Israeli technology companies such as N-Drip, Eshet Eilon, Agritask, Segula Agro and NGB Group participated in the forum from Israel.
