Save a Child’s Heart (SACH) is an Israeli-based international humanitarian project, whose mission is to improve the quality of pediatric cardiac care for children from developing countries who suffer from heart disease and to create centers of competence in these countries. SACH is totally dedicated to the idea that every child deserves the best medical treatment available, regardless of the child's nationality, religion, color, gender or financial situation.

Ghanaian children benefiting from this project currently in Israel:

    Aminatu Batolim

Amina is a nine-year-old girl from Accra, Ghana. She came to the Save a Child’s Heart house with her aunt because her mother is currently 8 months pregnant. Amina’s father is a taxi driver, while Amina’s mother sells rice, which just so happens to be Amina’s favorite food. Amina is currently in the third grade. Though she loves school, it has been a struggle for her because her heart condition constantly fatigues her. Amina loves playing ball, especially with her three-year-old brother, Samda.

    Laud Arhin

Laud is a three and a half year old boy from a small town in Ghana. He arrived in Israel accompanied by his mother and the two are inseparable. Laud is an only child. Both of Laud's parents are teachers at a school near their house; his mother teaches science and his father teaches social studies. Laud loves playing with toy cars and outside in the sand. His favorite food is porridge (his mom brought a whole package of it from Ghana to the children's home). Due to his heart condition, which leaves him with almost no energy, Laud has not yet been able to attend school or playing actively with other children without the help of his mother. Doctors discovered his heart condition after Laud was constantly inactive. His condition slightly improved with treatments of oxygen, blood transfusions and medication, but his mother hopes that surgery will bring major improvements to her son's health. Laud was really excited to travel on a plane for the first time. He loves planes and his biggest dream is to own one someday. In the meantime, Laud is also excited to go to school and become a doctor when he grows up.

We wish these precious children well!
