To mark the 2022 International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women (16 Days of Activism), the Embassy of Israel collaborated with the Gabi Noah International Krav Maga in Ghana to equip young girls with basic self-defense skills.

Beneficiaries of this project were selected from the Accra Girls Senior High School. They were taking through self-defense techniques that strengthened their intellectual and personal protection abilities especially for emergencies. They were engaged in basic defensive skills that enhanced their ability to fight back upon attack especially in rape situations.

In her remarks, our Head of Consul and Administration, Ms. Ortal Popovic expressed that “it is very important that young girls will know such self-defense skills so they will be able to protect themselves when they are confronted with situations.”

She added that, “we also hope that this training will boost the self-confidence of the girls wherever they go and in whatever they do.”

The students expressed their gratitude to the embassy for organizing the training.
