PEARS CHALLENGE COHORT 5 FOCUSES ON GHANA

    As part of initiatives to connect the State of Israel and Ghana, the Pears Program for Global Innovation on 18 October out doored the 5th Cohort of the Pears Challenge in Ghana. Their project is focused on developing resilient and sustainable solutions for the Ghanaian agricultural and food sectors. 

    The participants include RawCocoa, AMMFI, BetterLeaf, Symbiosis and Cool-harvest. In their visit to Ghana, they had the opportunity to present their ideas to various industry players in the agriculture sector. 

    In her remarks, H. E. Shlomit Sufa expressed that “I am excited that the fifth cohort of the Pears Challenge focused on developing solutions to support and improve the Agricultural Sector in Ghana. Indeed, this directly falls in line with the embassy’s goals and many initiatives to support the agricultural sector in Ghana which compliments the efforts of the government of Ghana.”

    “This initiative goes to further deepen the good relations between Israel and Ghana as we work together to develop tailor made solutions that serves as a win-win situation for both countries in the agricultural sector. The startups have come up with various solutions that directly responds to challenges in various sectors of the agricultural value chain in Ghana,” she added.
