The Director General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Yuval Rotem, will be traveling to Washington for a working visit that will center around a first-of-its-kind political dialogue between the Israeli Foreign Ministry and the American State Department. The dialogue will take place on Monday, 12 February. Undersecretary of State for Political Affairs, Thomas A. Shannon, will head the American side in the talks. DG Rotem will be accompanied by a number of deputy directors general from diplomatic divisions of the Ministry.
During his visit, DG Rotem will hold meetings at Congress with US senators and representatives, among them members of the Congressional Black Caucus and the Hispanic Caucus, as well as Jewish legislators. He will appear at the Hudson Institute and will visit the National Museum of African American History and Culture.
DG Rotem: The political dialogue with the American State Department will touch on geographical areas in which both states are active. This meeting is another expression of the close friendship between Israel and the US, a friendship based on common values and interests.
