The innovative, energetic and vibrant cultural scenes of Israel came alive in Accra from Thursday, 26th to Monday, 31 October 2017 at the Kempinski Hotel, Gold Coast City. To crown the Cultural Week celebration, the Embassy in collaboration with Gorjiors International organized a fabulous Fashion Show to raise funds in support of Fistula surgeries for women in Ghana.
Fashion Designers whose collections graced the Run-way were Israel’s Betty Eldad, who showcased her original bet-ka collections. Supported by Vlisco, Ghana’s Royal Dennis also showcased beautiful collections of ladies wear and suave men’s suit.
The highlight of the Gorjiors International Diplomatix Runway night was the cut-walk on the Run-way by some ambassadors and their spouses from the diplomatic community in Ghana, including Zimbabwe, Colombia, Denmark, India, Hungary, Australia, USA and Israel. Also joining the Run-way was the General Manager of Kempinski Hotel, Gold Coast City, Accra, Mr. Manish Nambiar and his spouse as well as Oded Sivan and his spouse from the Ghana Israel Business Chamber (GIBC). Pledging their support to end Fistula, members of the diplomatic community and all personalities who attended the event contributed an undisclosed amount to support Fistula surgeries.
The Diplomatix Runway event was attended by very high profile members of government, clergy, the diplomatic community, the Israeli community, the reigning Miss Ghana, fashion designers and many more.
The Embassy of the State of Israel in Accra in collaboration with the Kempinski Hotel hosted a weeklong celebration of Israeli Culture through arts, music, fashion, food and wines. Accompanied by an impressive selection of Israeli dishes prepared by Chef Shaul Ben Aderet, and Chef Ben Shaham, as well as Israeli Wines, presented by Tal Gal Cohen, the Cultural Week of Israel in Ghana brought together a fusion of Israeli and Ghanaian cultures.
On Friday, 27 October 2017, the Embassy celebrated a serenaded Jazz concert with the legendary Israeli flutist and composer Mattan Klein and his quartet with Dela Botri and the Hewale group as well as Cina Soul. It was a beautiful night of authentic jazz music.
Israeli Wine Ambassador, Tal Gal Cohen on Saturday, 28th October, hosted professionals in the hospitality and beverage industry to a classical Wine Tasting and Workshop aimed at introducing the wonders of Israeli Wines to the Ghanaian market.
