On November 24, H. E. Shlomit Sufa presented her letters of credence to H. E. Nana Addo Dankwa-Akuffo Addo at the Jubilee House.
Below are excerpts of Ambassador Sufa’s remarks to President Nana Addo:
Your Excellency Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, I am deeply honored and delighted to be here today, and grateful to you for the warm reception. I am pleased to present my letter of credence so I can start working as the State of Israel’s Ambassador to Ghana.
I promise to do my best to strengthen the already existing strong and friendly bilateral relations between Israel and Ghana, and to give a hand in the development of Ghana, especially in the Ghana Beyond Aid agenda.
Your Excellency, I would like to use this occasion to bring you warm greetings from my President, Mr Isaac Herzog and my Prime Minister, Mr Naftali Bennet. I would like to use this occasion to reiterate our invitation for you to come on an official visit to Israel. We look forward to it soon. I would also like to express our gratitude to you for Ghana’s support towards Israel’s renewed Observer Status at the African Union.
Your Excellency, I arrived in Ghana in August and I must say that I have been extremely impressed with the warmth and love of Ghanaians towards the State of Israel. The State of Israel is very grateful to Ghana for your bilateral relations since 1957, and especially in the last 10 years when our Embassy was re-opened in Accra, after 30 years of closure.
I have been well briefed on the tremendous work done by my predecessor, in the areas of Trade and Economy, Development, Culture among others to strengthen the relations between Israel and Ghana, and I intend to take our relations to even higher levels.
