In March, H. E. Shlomit Sufa embarked on a working visit to Kumasi, the capital of the Ashanti Region in Ghana.

The visit by Ambassador Sufa was to introduce herself as the new Israeli Ambassador to Ghana.

She also used the visit to discuss some possible areas of collaboration and cooperation in development and economic activities in the Ashanti Region.

As part of her meetings in Kumasi, Ambassador Sufa paid a courtesy call on the Ashanti Regional Minister, Hon. Simon Osei-Mensah, and the Mayor of the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly, Samuel Pyne. She also visited the Vice-Chancellor of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology. She also held a meeting with some members of the Ghana Journalist Association in Kumasi.

Ambassador Sufa also joined doctors, midwives and nurses of the Suntreso and Kumasi South Hospitals for their graduation ceremony on Advanced Training in Neonatal Care. This forms part of our MASHAV’s on going Mother and Baby Unit project in the Suntreso and Kumasi South Hospitals set up since 2009 to support Neonatal Care in the region. The training was led by Dr. Agneta Golan.
