20 selected agric students will depart Liberia for the annual AgroStudeis training project in Israel this weekend. The AgroStudies training is a joint project organized by Israel’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Ministry of Agriculture. In Liberian, the project is a collaboration between the Embassy of Israel in Ghana, the Ministry of Agriculture, and AgroStudies of Israel.
Liberia is among 15 countries participating in the agriculture based program that seeks to strengthen the capacities of students in various fields of agriculture. In Israel, the students will receive training in agriculture in various fields in agriculture. They will also participate in an on- the-job training on various Israeli farms. Various agronomists and agricultural instructors will train the students in fields such as irrigation, aqua culture, fruits and vegetables.
In her farewell message to the beneficiary students, H. E. Shani Cooper, Israeli Ambassador to Liberia, Ghana and Sierra Leone expressed her delight about the cooperation between Israel and the government of Liberia on the AgroStudies project. She encouraged the participants to represent the State of Liberia very well as the Embassy looks forward to their return to be leaders in the agricultural sector in Liberia.
Ambassador Shani Cooper also urged all the 20 participants to ensure they return to Liberia at the end of the training and help build the Liberian agricultural sector to its fullest capacity.
