On the occasion of the 20th Anniversary of Schneider Children's Medical Center of Israel
Schneider Children’s Medical Center of Israel is a member of Clalit Health Services, the largest HMO in Israel. The hospital is the only tertiary medical center of its kind in the Middle East, and offers comprehensive medical care to infants, children and adolescents in Israel, the region, and further afield, irrespective of race, religion or nationality.
Since its inception in 1991, Schneider Children’s revolutionized the practice of Pediatric Medicine in Israel. Over the years, the name “Schneider” has become synonymous with quality and pediatric excellence, and is routinely acknowledged for its high standards of service and unique medical approaches. The hospital offers all pediatric subspecialties
under one roof, and is noted for its treatment of complex conditions and breakthrough research, making it one of the finest pediatric centers in the world.
On the occasion of the hospital’s 20th Anniversary in 2012, world-renowned docu-photographer, Ziv Koren, volunteered to record daily life at Schneider Children’s: the huge medical accomplishments, the small human moments, the tension-filled minutes, the emotional burden, the fear, the pain, the hope, the smile - that of a child, for whom Schneider Children’s is willing to move mountains.
Reflected in the faces of the children, families and staff, Koren’s lens captures the greatest drama of all: the fight for life and for good health. Every parent of a sick child, every doctor, nurse and team member is a part of this story. But the real heroes of the story are Anat, Chaya, Haled, Rachel, Christina, Itamar, Max, Or, Avigail.
No fear is greater than the fear for the life of a sick child, but pediatric medicine is the most optimistic medicine there is. Ziv Koren’s sensitive eye succeeds in accurately portraying the story of Schneider Children’s by connecting the pieces of the jigsaw and infusing the added value that makes this hospital the extraordinary place that it is. The result is a visual kaleidoscope where the whole picture is greater than the sum of its parts -indeed much like Schneider Children’s itself.

CAPSULES OF SPRING
With the advent of Spring, the staff in the Educational Center at Schneider Children’s
Medical Center of Israel chose a novel way to greet the coming season, a blossoming of life that symbolizes renewal, growth, revitalization, health and new beginnings. The raw materials, comprised of capsules, and were donated by an international pharmaceutical company which also saw in the casings the art of medication.
Prepared by hospitalized children in the various departments at Schneider Children’s
Medical Center of Israel, who glued the capsules in various ways and formations, the
creative process reveals a range of textures of varying depths and work fabric.
