CYBER SECURITY TECHNOLOGY
So many aspects of our private lives, from our bank account numbers, to street addresses
and even our personal pictures are put at risk once they become accessible over the Internet,
which is why cyber security research and technologies are in higher demand than ever.
Fortunately, Israel’s experience in the field is keeping web users protected, namely in the
fields of data protection and financial technologies. One of the most noted ways that Israel
is innovating in cyber security is by securing government databases from dangerous foreign
attacks. This led Udi Mokady, the founder of notable cyber security company CyberArk to
state, “Everybody understands that you buy Swiss watches from Switzerland and information
security from Israel.”
RAPHAEL MECHOULAM
In what is growing into a billion dollar industry, the
medicinal cannabis movement has at least one Israeli they should to thank. The
Israeli organic chemist Raphael Mechoulam was one of the first researchers
to isolate tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), the active ingredient in cannabis, for
medicinal use. Today, these cannabinoids are manipulated and used to treat
a variety of diseases including cancer, epilepsy, multiple sclerosis and other
common and debilitating diseases.
