The week of 12-13 November 2020, H.E. Dr. Ron Adam, Ambassador of Israel in Rwanda, paid a courtesy visit to Rusizi and Nyamasheke Districts in Western Province. The purpose of the visit is to discuss the potential opportunities for collaboration. During his visit on 12 November 2020, H.E. Dr.Ron Adam met with the Mayor of Rusizi District, Mr. Kayumba Ephrem and discussed potential collaboration and investment opportunities available in the District.
Ambassador Dr. Ron Adam visited also Gishoma Peat Power Plant launched in 2020 by the Government of Rwanda to help to reduce electricity deficit.
On 13 November 2020, accompanied by Mrs. Judith UWANKERA, Mayor of Nyamasheke District, H.E. Ron Adam visited Gashirabwoba Genocide Memorial Site located in Bushenge Sector, Kagatamu Cell and paid respect to the victims of 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi.
At Nyamasheke District Headquaters,Mrs Judith UWANKERA Presented about opportunities available in the District and potential areas of collaboration.
In order to support the One Cow per poor Family (Girinka Program), H.E. Dr. Ron Adam accompanied with Nyamasheke Leadership Officials donated cows (heifer) to 22 families in Kanjongo Sector. These cows were supplied by SPEC Ltd represented by Mrs. Uwankera Judith and was approved by Rwanda Agricultural Board,as stipulated in guidelines of the scheme. Nyamasheke Distrct was selected because it is listed among the poorest Distrcts.
Ambassador Dr. Ron Adam visited also Gatare Tea Factory, a newly constructed facility located in Karambi Sector.
Recall that, since its establishment on 1st May 2019, the Israel Embassy in Rwanda spearheads Various bilateral initiatives launched to boost the ongoing relations between the two States sister Countries in areas, such as education and health, academia, women empowerment, science and technology, innovation and agriculture.
