On August 29, at Village Urugwiro, President Paul Kagame
received Letters of Credence from Ambassador Einat Weiss who assumed office as
the new Ambassador of the State of Israel in Rwanda.
During the ceremony, President Kagame congratulated Weiss on
her new role and extended a warm welcome to the Republic of Rwanda. The event
highlighted the strong and positive bilateral cooperation that already exists
between Rwanda and Israel.
Meanwhile, Ambassador Weiss expressed her commitment to
further the cooperation, which is firmly built on the similarities in the
history of the two countries.
“As you know, Israel and Rwanda have specific and unique
relations; our history, our present and our future. No other countries in the
world share the same values like Israel and Rwanda,” she said.
Ambassador Weiss further reiterated optimism in seeing “our
two countries go further and do more beautiful things together.”
H.E Einat Weiss assumes office replacing Ambassador Ron Adam
who completed his tour of duty, having served his four-year tenure as Israel's
top diplomat to Rwanda. Amb. Adam was Israel's first resident Ambassador in
Kigali.
