The State of Israel and the
Government of Rwanda have been enjoying strong ties over the years. The
relations of both countries received a major boost when Prime Minister of
Israel, Benjamin Netanyahu, visited Rwanda in 2016, a visit that was followed
by the visit of Rwanda’s President Paul Kagame to the Holy Land in 2017.April 2019 marked a historic moment
in the relations of both countries, whereby, for the first time in history, a
resident Ambassador of Israel was appointed to Rwanda. During the same year,
Rwandan Air launched direct flights between Tel Aviv and Kigali, increasing
business and tourism ties between the two countries.
Currently, Israel and Rwanda enjoy
excellent cooperation in areas of agriculture, ICT and innovation, education,
energy, defense and security, among others.
The Political Department at the
Embassy of Israel in Rwanda develops and maintains the bilateral relationship
between Israel and Rwanda.
