H.E. Ambassador
Einat Weiss has been Israeli Ambassador in Kigali since August 2023.The
Ambassador carries with her a comprehensive diplomatic experience in the
Ministry of Foreign Affairs spanning over 15 years of service. Her journey has
been marked by her passion for international diplomacy and development,
political advisement, and a strong advocacy for gender equality and Women
empowerment.
During
her first period at the ministry, Einat worked in the International
Organizations Department, where she learned about the ever-busy UN fora. In
2010, she was appointed as the Spokesperson, Public Relations Officer, and
Political Advisor at the Embassy of Israel in Canberra, Australia. From 2013,
upon her return to Israel, Ms. Einat Weiss held a position as the Advisor to
the Director General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Israel.
From
2016 to 2019, she served as the Minister-Counselor for Political Affairs at the
Embassy of Israel in Washington DC. Prior to her current position, Ambassador
Weiss was the Director of the Department for US-Israel Political Relations within
the North America Division.
In February
2023, Einat Weiss was appointed as the second- and first-woman Ambassador of
the State of Israel to the Republic of Rwanda, with residence in Kigali,
replacing Ambassador Ron Adam who completed his tour of duty.
Beyond the realm of
diplomacy, Ambassador Einat Weiss leads a life filled with diverse interests.
Hiking is her favorite sport, and she pursues it with unwavering passion.
Additionally, Ambassador Weiss is a devoted mother of twins, highlighting her
strong commitment to family life.
