Ambassador visits agricultural organizations

    ​February 16, 2016—Ambassador Kahanoff and Mr. Turk of Culture & Science Affairs Attache visited JIRCAS, NARO and NIAS in Tsukuba, coinciding with a delegation from Japan’s Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries was visiting Israel.

    At JIRCAS, we learned agricultural research in arid areas and visited the shrimp farming technology research facility.




    At NARO, we saw a demonstration of an unmanned tractor using ICT, and learned assisting device that can help in grape cultivation. NARO researches for maintaining stability in production of foods in aging society in agricultural communities utilizing ICT and ergonomics.





    At NIAS, we learned about rice breeding, and visited Gene Bank that does from collection, evaluation, preservation, distribution and information disclosure of agricultural gene resources.​
