IMPORTANT UPDATE REGARDING TRAVEL TO ISRAEL

  •

The Israeli Ministry of Health, together with the Population and Immigration Authority and Border Control of the State of Israel, are continuing to take measures in an effort to prevent the spread of the COVID 19 (coronavirus) epidemic in Israel.

Accordingly, and in addition to the decisions that were published and implemented earlier, starting on Thursday, 12 March 2020, at 20:00, all foreign nationals arriving to the state of Israel will be required to comply with home quarantine conditions for 14 days from their date of entry into Israel.

Hotels and dormitories are not considered as “home quarantine”.

This provision extends earlier implemented limitations that were applied on arriving from: Austria, Italy, Andorra, Germany, Japan, Egypt, China (People's Rep.), Macau (SAR China), Hong Kong (SAR China), Singapore, San Marino, Spain, France, South Korea (Rep.), Switzerland and Thailand which has been in effect until now.

The above mentioned applies to nationals of Israel, their spouses and children, and to all who resident in Israel including accredited diplomats to the State of Israel.

Israeli citizens, including their spouses and children, as well as residents that can present an Israeli I.D. (Teudat Zehut) stating their status of residency or citizenship, will be permitted entry into Israel subject to their meeting the demands for home quarantine for 14 days from the day of entry to Israel.

Diplomats accredited to the State of Israel holding Diplomatic I.D. issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, will be permitted to enter Israel, subject to their meeting the demands of the Ministry of Health and entering home quarantine for 14 days from the day they enter Israel.

Diplomats who are planned to take up positions in Israel must coordinate their arrival with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Embassy of Israel in the relevant country. Visitors from all countries who wish to visit Israel will be required to state the purpose for their arrival and state their place of home quarantine in Israel in the following way:

Advanced notification by email, five working days prior to the planned date of arrival, should be sent to the Consular Department of the relevant Israeli embassy in the source country.

Following is the language of the notification that must be submitted in either Hebrew or English:

I, Mr./Mrs._____intend to arrive to Israel for a visit between the dates______on flight_____from_____ I declare in full honesty and  commit myself that upon arrival to Israel I will confine myself to home quarantine with_____at the following address:_____
    Email:_____
    Telephone/mobile phone:_____

In continuance, the email will be sent by the consul at the Israeli embassy to the Consular Division of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Foreign Relations and Liaison Department) that will convey the information to the Population and Immigration Authority and Border Control, where the information will be noted for the relevant visitor, in the Border Control data-base system.

Upon completion of these steps, and only after approval of all relevant parties, a confirmation letter will be sent to the visitor/s, confirming boarding of their flight to Israel.

We would like to emphasize that in any case of doubt, the decision whether or not to permit entry into Israel of the visitor lies with the Border Control official and with the Population and Immigration Authority, according to their opinion regarding the reliability of the visitor’s declaration and paperwork submitted in each individual case.

The Consular Division of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs calls on all foreign Embassies and Consulates in Israel, and all foreigners staying in Israel, to be current on the publications of the Israeli Ministry of Health and the Population and Immigration Authority and Border Control, as published in the media and their websites.
